Hi David,
Happy New Year to you and your family too!
My grandmother's grandmother, following my female line, takes me to Susannah Nunley, daughter of John Nunley and Mary Ann Britten. Susannah married John Mumford and was known as Susan. After Susan's death in 1877, her youngest daughter Deborah sailed to New Zealand to become domestic help to a widowed man, Christopher Hanham. They married in March 1878 making Deborah stepmother to three young children at age 20. Together they had 14 children, my grandmother  Annie being the 8th child. Annie married Arthur John Skelton and my mother Mavis was their 7th child.  Mum married Maurie Oates. Rosemary helped me with much of the Nunley history which confirmed the oral history I knew.
Kind Regards,
Fran

Hello Nunley Descendants,
I was interested to see Joseph Nunley's headstone and thought I would attach his brother's death cert as Joseph was the informant.

Hi Newbe,
I'd love to know if there's a headstone inscription.
I found one of the descendants of David and Martha!  Have been looking for ages :-)

Hi John,
I'm not a member of NZSG but it sure sounds like I should join with all that information they have on David and Martha.

Thanks so much for all of your help.

Fran

Hi Newbe,
That's the right David and Martha.  Some of the other Mumford's listed in cemetery database are definitely related.
Thanks for your help,
Fran

Hi,

Searching for any descendants of David and Martha Mumford (nee Mason) who arrived in Lyttelton 1851. They came from Stonely, Kimbolton, Huntingdonshire, England.

Thanks,
Fran

Q 1, When the father's occupation is listed in a marriage cert, can we presume he is still alive at time of marriage?
Q 2, Are middle names left out of documents such as in listings of workhouse inmates?

Thanks,
Fran
