Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Odd DNA match
« on: Saturday 30 September 23 20:48 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone. I've just got a 5th - 8th cousin match on Ancestry. It predicts the match from both sides of my family. My parents married in 1945, so I'm really not sure where this match has come from. Am I missing something obvious? Many thanks

Thank you for your replies. Would the 3 jail's mentioned had the facilities for hard labour?

My mother in law's parents were sent to prison for 1 months hard labour each in 1920. This was in Warrington Lancashire. Which prison would they have been sent to ? They were originally from Darlington and we know they went back there.

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / I need to block/remove a relative but cant
« on: Tuesday 16 April 19 21:21 BST (UK)  »
Hi. I tested on 23andme. A relative has popped up from a side of the family that I have nothing to do with and never will. I dont want this person to see anything about me but 23andme have said that there is no way to block or remove her. I have blocked her on messages but I know she would never contact me.
Any ideas on how to get rid?
Jane

Hi
Would the name Tomlinson be of any interest?

With no father to be seen, his mother was maybe depressed after the birth, so when Easter came around, was persuaded to celebrate his birth !

Ah. Ive heard of something similar, where the vicar rounds up the parents of unbaptised children and on a particular day,all the children in a family were baptised !!
