Good heavens! I never expected to have so many great reconditioned efforts to choose from. Thank you all so much. I will try and find the photo of my great grandmother in the bogs of Gortcloonmore and get you to see what you can do with her.

They've all scrubbed up so well on both of your versions. Love the look on the baby's (my Aunt Sheila''s) face. Thank you.

That is truly wonderful and will make a memorable Christmas present for my 88 year old Aunt, the baby in the photograph!
Many, many thanks.

This is the only family group picture I have of my father, his siblings and parents.
I would like to be able use it on the front of a family memoir. Unfortunately I don't have the original photograph just this scan which I hope will be sufficient for somebody to have a go.
Anticipatory thanks.

Hello

I am trying to trace my family tree on my mothers side whose surname was Kearns who was born in Clonmel, all I know is her father was  called Patrick, if anyone could help me where to start tracing in Ireland that would be great.

Thanks
Also try the Kearns-Cairns Irish Civil Registration site. I t's very useful but ,alas, hasn't found the family of a  Thomas Kearns I am looking for.

Small, and probably inconsequential point, but the writing in the letters is unlike any Irish writing of the period that I have ever seen.

Brilliant!
BTW found I DID have the marriage of Denis Forde/Honor Qualter in my file. Denis is from Lisheenavalla and Honor from Baile na Creige in Lissarulla. They were married in Oranmore 19/11/1877. However the dod info you gave me was very useful because looking at the ages of their children on the 1911 Census there is a possibility that she died in childbirth. Sad.

FAO Libby; Found a Sabina Qualter baptised 24/09/1841 in Annaghdown, but parents were William Qualters and Honor Leonard. Witnesses John Leonard and Bridget Mc Peim.
Also a marriage of a Sabina 14/02/1870 in Oranmore . The latter was the daughter of Thomas Qualter of Baile na Creige and married Patrick King from Bryanhill.
Just including them in case any of the names crop up anywhere else.
