Hi Lynne- i'm actually an american but have been living in London for the past 11 years. have been going back and forth to ireland a lot over the past 20 years or so. may be going over christmas to see my great uncle (Thomas's grandson), who just turned 99! my barnwell connection is through my grandfather, whose mother was Thomas's daughter. Thomas was supposedly a lovely man, adored by his grandkids- he was known as Gowery Barnwell, dunno why. He had a son John (Jack) who was a hero in WWI. after the war he bought an old manor house in Wexford- Kilmannock House, which they farmed but i think it was sold a few years ago. beautiful old place. i saw some of the Barnwells a few years ago at a funeral in Birr, think they are very much into horse racing and training, ones a racing vet i think.

I had heard there was a Barnwell connection in Australia, but hadn't any details. my cousin's hus band in Dublin has done a lot of genealogy research on various lines of ours, will try to see if i can get the barnwell line sent.

hope this helps

Brian

Hi- not sure if its the same Thomas Barnwell you're looking for, but my gggrandfather was Thomas Barnwell, originally from Cree. cant remember the exact dates, but he died sometime in the early 1900s, and is buried at Seir Kierans church in Clareen. He was a wheelwright. hope this helps, let me know if i can help you with anything else

good luck

Brian
