Durham / Re: Cruddace, Crudace, Croudace, Cruddas

Hi

I am also searching for William Croudace circa 1814-16 without much success.

If anyone is looking for him in the 1841 census his name is transcribed as Crandall and he is living at Fellside Wickham.

I know he married Sarah Turnbull of Beamish in the parish of Tanfield - parents Robert and Isabella.

If anyone has any further info on William I would be interested!!

My mother in law was a Cruddace.

Cumberland Lookup Requests / Grahams of Lees Hill, Lanercost
« on: Saturday 16 February 08 14:25 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for Joseph Graham, who married Ann Armstrong in Lanercost in 1807, but if he was born in 1792 and baptised in 1793 that would only make him 14!

Also Joseph Graham married around 1740 in Lanercost to Ann Forrester or Ann Heatherington, they had eight children,

Any help gratefully accepted.

Many thanks

Cheryl

You could try Tyne and Wear Archives, they are in the Discovery Museum in Newcastle.

Swan Hunter was the biggest employer on the north side of the Tyne, and if he lived in Walker he would probably have been employed by them.

Both my grandfathers (one a  boilermaker and the other as hand rivetter were both employed by Swans.

Hope this helps

Good luck

Durham Lookup Requests / Re: Tierney/Tearney/Ternan

Hi

I also have several variations of Tierney.

Tierney, Tiernay, Tiernan, Tearnan, Turney and even Turner in the 1881 Census.

My Great Grandfather came to Sunderland about 1868, can find him in 1871 but not 1861.

Even on the parish records of St Patricks Church in Sunderland, there are variations of the name on the same time.

I wish you luck finding them

Cheryl (Tierney originally from Wallsend)
