Hi Stevie
Many thanks for the extra information about Edith's father, Alfred Curzon.  I have struggled to find him on the census returns etc, but with this extra information it all fits into place.
Many thanks
Sally

Hi Wombat
I confess that I don’t know much about Edith’s maternal line.  Her father, Charles Courtney married twice and my descendants come from his first marriage with Sarah Leyzell.   I have copies of both of Charles’s marriage certificates, if you would like copies.  From the marriage certificate of Sarah Brewster, it says that her father is Thomas Brewster, farrier.  I’ve tried to trace this family without much success.  Can you let me know where the family is on the 1841 census?
Regards
Sally

Theophilus Bunny fits into my 'Bunny' family.  He was the son of William Bunny and Louisa Wright.  However I can't help you with the Hawthorn family.

Thanks - a good idea.  I hadn't thought that they might get a plaque for simply being a church warden, but I can see that it certainly is a possibility if they have been involved with the church for a long time.  I did write to the person in charge of the Maiden Newton village history web site, but didn't get a reply.  Perhaps the church itself would be a better option.
Many thanks

Hi
I have Merritts in my family who were born in Bishop's Canning / All Canning.  Simon Merritt who married Ann Drew in 1850.  Does this fit into your tree?  They had a son, George b. 1854, but he married Eliza Caines, so I don't think this is who you are after.

Hello.  When I went to Maiden Newton church over the summer, I noticed inside that there was a plaque on the wall dedicated to James and Elizabeth Caines who died in 1837 and 1829.  Does any one know why they had a plaque inside the church - or how I could find out why?  They are ancestors of my husband, so would like to find out!
Many thanks
Sally

Hi.  I'm trying to find out more info about Edith Courtney.  I've traced her to approx 1900 through D'Oyly Carte etc.  But the last census info I've got is 1881 and I can't find any details of her marriage and any family she may have had.  I can trace most her of siblings and their families (my husband is descended from her brother William), so its really frustrating that I can't trace her!  Any help would be most aprreciated.
