Dear Treetotal & Thrishanne,  Thank you both very much.  I've recently heard back from the person whose tree I found this lovely old photo on.  Unfortunately he/she only has a downloaded version also so I am unable to supply a better copy.  Thank you Trishanne for your efforts.  What you've done has cleaned it up quite a bit for which I am most grateful.

Hi Di,

Thank you for your very quick reply.  I'm afraid the photo is one that I downloaded from someone else's tree on Ancestry.  I'll see if they can re scan it as per your request.

Thanks,
Michelle

Hi to everyone who has replied.  To Ambly: The link you referred to is where I asked for restorations of these 2 photos.  No, the photos are copies of copies of copies, therefore I do not have the originals.

To Jim1:  Thanks for the 'heads up' about coming forward a generation - I'll keep that in mind.

I was hoping the photos may have been taken on their wedding day but I guess I'm lucky to have them at all, no matter when they were taken.

It's handy to know that photography wasn't invented until 1839, so thanks for that bit of info.

Cheers to all,
Michelle

Hi again folks.  Some of you very good people restored the following 2 photos for me yesterday, for which I am very grateful.  Now I'm trying to figure out the approx. ages of the 2 people, or a rough idea of when the photos were taken?

I'm hoping there's a chance they were taken on their wedding day which was in 1831.  His age was 23 & she was 14 when they married.  What do others think?

All suggestions will be most welcome.

Thank you,
Michelle

To Maureen, Alan, Irene, Japeflakes & Terry, Thank you all so very much for your wonderful work.  I really do appreciate you taking the time and effort to do this for me.  You have now all left me with the very difficult decision of which ones to use as they are all so good in their own special ways.  Thank you all again very much.

Hello.  Firstly, please forgive me if the attachments are the wrong size as I don't know how to find out what size they are.  (Probably pretty dumb to most people, but I haven't got a clue).  If the sizes are OK, would someone be kind enough to restore the following 2 photos as best you can please?  They are the oldest family photos I have come across so far and I am just so excited to have them, but it would be lovely to have them clearer?

Thanking you so very much.
