I appreciate that this is a very old thread but I have researched details of all burials at St. Matthews from 1798 - 2019.

Isle of Man Lookup Requests / Warrington Hotel, Empress Terrace, Douglas
« on: Monday 08 September 14 14:25 BST (UK)  »
My grandparents both worked at the Warrington Hotel or Warrington Boarding House at Empress Terrace, Douglas in the mid 1920's. There is a photo of the building at :-http://www.imuseum.im/Collections/View.mth?EntryID=2902887&issourcerecord=true&sourcecategory=QuickSearch

It doesn't have a date but looks later than the 1920's and shows members of staff on the steps and others who are probably guests. Above the door it says Warrington Hotel and Eccles. My grandfathers name was Eccles and I believe he had relatives in the IOM so my question is, " does anyone know anything about this hotel and is there a list of hotel / boarding house proprietors that may shed some light on the name?. Thanks, Andy Eccles, Brighouse, West Yorkshire

Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Re: JUBB

Are you still searching for Ann Jubb? I have come across this name with a date of death of the 26th June 1777 in a tree on ancestry though I've not seen any proof of that being the date of death. I can send details if you want to check it out.

Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Re: John Noble of Brighouse

Malcolm,
Are you still interested in the John Noble who emigrated to Wisconsin ? I have quite a lot of information on him and his family and have visited decendants who still live there on three occasions.

John Noble and his wife Martha are shown as living at Oaks Green, Rastric in the 1841 census and on the 7th August that same year, they left Rastrick for Liverpool, arriving on the 10th. They left Liverpool for New York on the 14th on board the 895 ton packet called the Garrick arriving in New York 31 days later.

If you require more info, please let me know.
