lings were a doncaster based fairground firm u can see a picture of their waltzer in the fairground and circus book by white most showmans families have romani backrounds wether they like it or not the boswells were the first family to have a fairground ride on the south shore in blackpool before it become the pleasure beach most people of romani background know it was the romany families who started the fairs

hi the knowles name is also a fairground name in scotland if that is any help also the young name is in the romany routes magazine they also have a website billy young frankie young settled in glasgow they come from england frankie married minnie todd her mam was a boswell scottish boswells and billy married a lady called izah might be of help might not

Hi i am new to this board found it by accident trying to find any families with the above names in their background romani backround settled for generations family wont here of their past grandmother will not tell me anything wont here of it and findinding it very hard to progress with my search grandmother and all her dead brothers are dark dark skinned my father was the same he is also dead i am being a bit vague but have my reasons Hudson's i believe the Birmingham area heinstein supposedly Jewish romani patterson Scottish romani.any help greatly appreciated some of the family never had births registered or so Ive been told
