Antrim / David Hill c. 1760 Antrim County?
« on: Tuesday 20 October 09 02:09 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for a David Hill, born about 1760, perhaps in Antrim County, Ireland, but family legend says he is the son of a "Lord Hill" of Antrim, Ireland.

Because the Lords of Hillsborough are in Down, I wonder if there is some relationship, but from a family in Antrim County.

The family legend says he was educated in Paris. He had relatives associated with the Battle of Waterloo.

But he is found in Vermont, USA, in the late 1700s. In the 1790 census for Colchester, Chittenden County, Vermont, he is found near Thomas Hill, who might be an older brother.

So I am looking primarily for David Hill's family of origin. I would like to know where he was born, more precisely when he was born, and who his parents are. Who are his brothers and sisters?

I have no idea how to search in records in Ireland, and I fear records may be in England, as well, since this family is from England, but family records point me to Antrim County, Ireland. Thank you for your help.

Berkshire Lookup Requests / David Hill

I am looking for a David Hill, born about 1760. He is likely related to the Downshire Hill family of Hillsborough, but family legend says he is associated with Antrim County, Ireland. I have discovered that the family is also associated with Berkshire, England. Are there any records that would fit?

I am looking for a David Hill, born about 1760 in Antrim County, Ireland. He is likely related to the Hillsborough Hill family, and "William Hill" continues in the family.

Where was he born, precisely where, and who are his parents? I would appreciate any additional information.

Perhaps he can be found in the Carrickfergus area?
