World War Two / Re: Long Nawang Borneo 1942

When I put my initial post regarding Andrew Macpherson on here, Friday 4th April 2014, had no idea that it would be still going 10 years later. I was researching Macphersons generally at the time, and a very prolific lot they are too. So pleased that it has panned out so well for some family members, no connection to myself that I can prove though. It was an appalling WW2 incident which needed answers. Good luck.

Thanks for all replies. I do not have a sub for FMPast at present, my image came from A,,,,,try..
FindMyPast is perhaps more up to date, will investigate; mine is a sea of black with just 2 names, one of which is the name  I was looking for, actually born in the area. Thanks again Brionne.

Dorset / 1939 The Drum Inn Wonstan Sturminster Rd Dorset

Can anyone throw any light on why there was a very large party of 20 children listed as staying at the Drum Inn September 1939, all except 2 still have not been named. There do not appear to be any adults listed. Any ideas/info appreciated. Thanks Brionne.

Sorry. unable to get anywhere with this, its quite complex. Will mention though that I believe Catherine Johnston, Henrys wife, may have been born earlier than you think.

For your information, theres a tree on A,,,,,,Y giving Henry Schumaker born 1819 Hanover Germany married to Catherine Johnson born 1829.

Another idea, The British Queen, steamship arrived Liverpool from New York with 42 passengers, includes, H G Schumaker, Thursday evening April 29th 1841.[Dublin Monitor.]

Cork / Re: Lady McNaughton ship to Australia

Many thanks rathmore and Kiltaglassan for your interest and time in finding info on this Henstridge family. I have unearthed quite a bit by various means since posting. The obits are useful ,had just the Findagrave only. Thankyou.
I actually come from the same Wiltshire village South Newton as this couple and discovered their route to Adelaide 1850s quite by chance. They had at least seven children, eldest Henry[Harry] born 1849,before they left Wiltshire.
Very interested to confirm the sailing details, as its an early one.
The many branches of the seven children all  stayed mainly in South Australia, still finding more.
If you have a few minutes to find the Lady McNaughton sailing details,if any, would be grateful/
Looks like the ship started in Ireland before embarking the English passengers in Plymouth.
Found today that the Workhouse site has info on sponsored emigration to South AUS from 1850 onwards, from parish workhouses.Wilton sent some,no lists of course anywhere this end.
Very interesting,thanks again,Brionne
