Hi Prophetess,

Just realized that I spelt tailor incorrectly - how stupid it that! Thank you for your kind offer of help, was very busy the other day and did a quick reply. At the moment I do not need help in Dunoon, apart from finding out this name. I should really have some rellies still in the area, if I can remember their names/surnames. I used to have such a good memory!!!! - best wishes - Kray

Kildare / Birth Certificate Info
« on: Friday 16 October 09 07:50 BST (UK)  »
Hi!
My grandfather was baptised at The Assumption Castledermot church in 1879 and I think that I have found a birth registration for him at Athy. What information would be on that? Would it give me more info than the baptism? Why he was born there I do not know, as his older and younger siblings were born in Liverpool. Family tell me that his mother and father were also born in Liverpool, but on the 1891/1901 censuses they list themselves as born in Ireland. I am therefore trying to find any Irish links. The family does not show up on earlier English census. I am wondering if they lived in Ireland for a time (maybe because they had relations there) and then went back to England. My grandfather was Michael Patrick Kenna and his parents were Martin Kenna and Bridget Doyle. Thanks - Kray

Can someone help me please? I am trying to find out information on the following person, I have tried contacting local historical people, but noone has answered. In the early 1960's my father took me to visit a great uncle in Dunoon. My g uncle was a taylor and he made beautiful kilts etc. for pipe bands. He would have been around 70 years old at the time, I think. I am not sure which side of my family he was on, I think my father's,  he would be a Pollock or Nelson. My grandfather was Donald Pollock and he married Agnes Lamont Nelson. Thank you for your help - Kray
