Pembrokeshire / Re: Vaughan Brothers Fishguard Ship Brig Hope

I guess as you mention passage of time that you were directing to the original poster.  You may notice my more recent posting mentioning some posssible earlier history of the Hope and other connection with the Vaughan family.

If any interest in exchange let me know.  I'd be interested to see your extract even though it's a bit out on a limb from my family history.  However I also do bits on ships, so might follow up the Hope if I can find enough material.

Thanks

Either or.

Descendants would be great, but any info also of interest.  I don't know of any marriage or children and haven't looked at a will.

Thanks for that, which I'll digest.  Meanwhile here's my family's links with the Vaughans

Thanks for replying.  Quite a tenuous link!  But then, neither am I related to many in the family history.

My 4GFather was a James Llewelin of Goodwick.  His son Henry 1812-70 married one of Levi's daughters, Elizabeth.  Henry was the captain of the Gwaun Maid ship, built in Fishguard and no doubt mainly financed by Levi.  Henry & Elizabeth had a son, named Henry Levi, but I have no record of him past the 1861 census, when he was 7.

I haven't found much about the Vaughans beyond Levi and his children and not even much on the children.  It would be nice to have a little more in that direction, so if you have anything you care to share, that would be nice.  I can offer what of my family was connected with the Vaughans.

Long time, but if still interest, I have some information re Hope (OK Milford, but master at Fishguard 1815-34) and later relationship with Vaughans in Fishguard in investment in shipping.

Very bried - but any reply and I'll put together some more.

hhughes - maybe some mutual interest in viewing old photos?  You can see some of mine in Llanwnda church - a few pages about the bible of William Griffiths by the font.
