Hi Paul,

Do you have access to Ancestry.co.uk if so search under Ellen Le Cocq and you will that another member has researched this tree.

Kind regards
Sandra

Hi Paul,

Unfortunately there isn't a lot of information on line for the Channel Islands (I live in Jersey) and it means you will need to visit Archive Centres or pay for the centres to do research on you behalf.  However, I have found Douglas Stanley Sherrington in the 1911 census living with his wife Ellen Annie who was born in Jersey so perhaps this could be who you are looking for.  They are living in Southsea, Portsmouth and he is in the Royal Navy.

I'll see if I can find any more information on Ellen for you if you like.

Best regards
Sandra

Hi, I've found the Andrews family living at Rockholme, Pontac, St. Clement.  To view this information go to www.jerseyheritage.org click on Research Centre/Heritage Collections/Search and in the search engine type in Rockholme etc. I haven't been able to find other family members but you never know what you might be able to find.

Sorry I can't be of anymore help

Sandra

Hi, that's an interesting query, I'm researching the lines of my husbands families and note that they also came to the iIsland from the UK, some coming from the South coast. I know that there's was a lot of building work going on during that time in St. Helier (the Westaway family were big in the building industry then) as I live in the Island I will see what I can find out for you.

Best regards

Glad to have been of assistance, I found this web site via Jerripedia, under the family research section parish churches, which was a great help in my research.

Hi Gary,

I've found the burial of Joseph McFarding in St. Clements parish church cemetery on 2nd May 1865 he was 60 yrs.  To view this record go to www.stclementschurch.org and type McFarding in the search engine.  Hope this is what you're looking for.

Kind regards

Hi China,

I did find a marriage on Ancestry but it's in French and the detail isn't very clear, so if you could provide me with the information that would be great.  I wasn't sure with what I found because Julia was living in Jersey but obviously she went to Canada at some time

Thank you
Sandra
