Ahhhh I see, Forrest is my mother's maiden name and they seem to all have originated from the Kirkintilloch, Twechar, Kilsyth area but I haven't gone much further back to see where it traces back to, I just wondered if you were related to any of my grandfather's siblings

Yep, looked at that one - Jeanie Forrest b 15th May 1909, parents William and Annie Forrest (ms Donnelly)
Anyone who wishes to view this particular entry then please get in touch.

Ps Dave, i'm interested to know how you're related to this particular line, as i'm not sure if you have details of Jeannie's brothers and sisters

Excellent thank you, that's really helped me a lot! There was such an age gap between my grandfather and his older brothers and sister that we don't know much about them at all

Jeannie married a Charles Ebdon, i'm unsure as to when (I'm guessing it was before 1938) but it was in the south of England - Portsmouth / Plymouth / Southampton area we think

I think i've gone back as far as yourself on the Forrest line to 1855, but I think i'm complicating matters further by also looking at siblings of each person I find

Both Margaret and James's family were from the Kirkintilloch / Kilsyth area, and were listed as being from Twechar at the time of their marriage

From what I know about the family, Grace wasn't the sister of Charles, Jean etc, she was in fact the aunt of them all so it puts Jean after Charles and before the first James to be born in 1911.

However, she wasn't adopted as far as we are aware as the details from her death certificate give month and year of birth as June 1909.

Another thought I had was that Grace and Jean were in fact the same person, but looking at Grace's marriage and death records seem to disprove it.

Hi,

The only one still alive is Margaret (Peggy) who, unfortunately isn't well enough to talk to about all this.
I have the birth certificate, or have viewed the birth certificate for every other sibling except Jean. I've searched for J Forrest, since I now know her year of birth but still not finding anything.

I don't know for sure, but i'm guessing she was born in Kirkintilloch as all others were born there too, but have searched for all of Scotland just in case.

Parents were James and Margaret, married in 1907.

I have been trying to find out more information on my grandfather's siblings, each born between 1908 and 1924, but there seems to be one birth record missing. Jean (Jeannie) Forrest was born in June 1909, and according to ancestry.co.uk died in the south of England in 2002, but there doesn't appear to be any record of her birth in Scotland despite being the second eldest of 10 in the family.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can look other than Scotland's People as I have been to the research place in Edinburgh and cannot find any information on her, and have searched online too.
Any help is gratefully received.
