Hi Eddie, thanks for your reply and offer. I've tried to cut and paste a version I could post here, but the website's address appears over sections of the writing I want deciphered when I do that. So I'll PM you (and anyone else who wants a crack at it). Thanks again.

Cheers,
Kristy

Europe / Norwegian translation/deciphering help please
« on: Friday 26 March 10 00:17 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone.

I have a PDF of a Norwegian marriage registration from 1858, and it's making my brain hurt. I'm wondering if someone would be able to tell me what the column headings mean, what the last name of the groom's father could possibly be (I can only make out his Christian name), and what the other information means. It's too big to post here, so if someone thinks they could have s hot at helping me out, I could e-mail it to you if that's okay.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Kristy

Australia / Re: Was gt-grandpa a Freemason?
« on: Tuesday 12 January 10 11:36 GMT (UK)  »
You could try contacting the Adelaide branch of the Freemason's directly and ask. I found a Freemason in the family of friend (and they had no idea he had been one either), and Brisbane holds the records for him (he was Townsville-based).

Also, I cound some information on another Freemason for another friend, who had been the leader of the Brisbane branch at one point, and it mentioned him, it was some kind of anniversary edition.

Good luck with your search.

Cheers,
Kristy

Hi Jamjar, thank you for your response.

Yes, the marriage you mentioned is mine. They had nine biological children, one adopted, and several were born in Victoria. Then some returned to NSW, some went to QLD, James went to Bourke, and I have no idea what happened to Hannah. But I do know that she was known as Annie, and that her name was actually Hanora, a good Irish name for a girl from Co.Limerick. There are several possibilities for her (since she was born c.1831, if you include deaths after 1900 there are a few more), I'm looking in QLD too as I thought that perhaps James died first, and she went to live with one of the kids. I was just hoping that maybe she was buried with James and that would make it easier for me. And no, I don't have his certificate. I have bought so many certificates for this part of the family I don't think I can justify buying another at this stage. But at some point I will have to.

I did think the Harriet who died in 1876 was mine, but not anymore, as I found a death for a sibling of hers, and his last name was also Stewart, since she was a Walker, this is another family. Possibly still a relative of some kind though. So, scratch the request for the Harriet look-up everyone :-)

Thanks again.

Cheers,
Kristy

Hello,

I was wondering if you could look up Charles Edward KELLY for me, b.1879 Murrumburrah, d.1949 in Cowra. Also, are there any other KELLYs buried there?

Thank you very much for your generous offer.

Kindest regards,
Kristy

Australia / Bourke (NSW) Cemetery Look-up?
« on: Saturday 09 January 10 05:59 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, if anyone has access to Bourke Cemetery records, or could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate  look-up for the following:

James Edward STEWART b.c.1832-d.1889 Wife Hannah STEWART nee DOODY, death date unk. but could be buried with him.

His parents were John STEWART and Harriet STEWART nee WALKER. I don't know if they came out to Australia too, but I did find a death of a Harriet STEWART in Bourke in 1876.

Any info/look-ups would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Kristy

Northamptonshire Lookup Requests / SMITH and DAWSON Birth look-up Warmington
« on: Thursday 29 October 09 10:00 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,

I would be grateful if anyone with access to Warmington baptism records could look up the following for me:

Sarah SMITH b.c.1768 Warmington. Also, were there any DAWSON baptisms in Warmington around the late 1780s, early 1790s? Parents would be Thomas and Sarah, but I would be interested to see if any other DAWSON baptisms took place.

Thank you in advance.

Cheers,
Kristy

Thanks again, Crowboy.

Alice went on to marry in Lyddington, perhaps the family had connections there?

You've helped me so much, I really appreciate it.

Cheers,
Kristy
