Tom,

I have never heard of Glasgoego Cottage but there is Glasgoforest Farm and Glasgoforest Croft - these are just beyond the Kinellar roundabout on the A96 on the left.

My grandparents lived not far from there and I still have a lot of relatives in the area.

Tom.

Tom,

Hill of Keir is a farm in the Parish of Skene, Aberdeenshire.

Mains of Keir is an adjacent farm where I grew up and my mother still lives there.

Broadshade is another farm adjacent to Hill of Keir.

Leddach House is not far from Hill of Keir - this was an estate house but has been converted to a Care Home.

Hill of Keir is about 8 miles west of Aberdeen and sits high up with dramatic views over Loch of Skene and the Hill of Fare beyond.

The nearest village is Kirktown of Skene and the Church there has a graveyard with some very old gravestones - there might be some family clues there  or in the Parish records.

Hill of Keir farm was small and is still there but the farm steadings have been converted to houses and the land is no longer worked as a farm.

The town of Westhill is rapidly expanding and Broadshade has already been sold for housing. I think that Hill of Keir will also be built on in the near future.

I hope this helps.
