Have you tried starting ftm - then open the file - go to tools and compact file - should be ok then.

Antree no longer have anything to do with FTM all up to Mckiev now.

It worked fine for 6months since my sub lapsed, I'm convinced its an
'upgrade' by MS.
The link must be working to a degree as the green leaf symbol is there.

I have the latest version.
It appears to have happened  after one of Microsoft's 'upgrades' not that bothered as I don't have an Ancestry subscription at the moment, just plain annoying.
The hints were sometimes useful though!

Hi All
I have been using Family Tree Maker for some years now and last week the search function has stopped displaying anything!
It used to work showing all the hints etc when you clicked on  a green leaf icon!
But all that has stopped just get a blank area, you do get a couple of hourglass icon show as if its trying to do something but nothing appears.
Anyone any ideas I've tried all the  options I can find and search for answers but no joy!

« on: Saturday 05 November 11 13:33 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I would like to get the original St Martins parish church records but so far have had no luck in finding them.
I have the Jago transcripts but wish to have access to the orininal so that I can transcribe them and put them on the web!
So far the Cornwall Record Office has no listing for them any offers!

London and Middlesex / Re: why no birth records
« on: Saturday 12 February 11 14:54 GMT (UK)  »
Thanks for that  Galium I have that certificate, it was the birth records that I was missing.

Also it is strange that on 1841 and 1851 mary is swown as born Wales and 1861 as Islington.
Nothing is consistant with this family!!

thanks for the Nigelp as thats the street they were in on the 1841 census.
Still no help in getting her mother maiden name etc as this is usually given on a birth certificate but not on baptism.

London and Middlesex / why no birth records
« on: Saturday 12 February 11 13:44 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All I have a mystery family, I have them on the 1841,1851 and 1861 census from then on they have disappeared.
I have now put the dissappearance down to the fact that the father stephen john Sewell was made bankrupt in 1863 so I presume they then changed their name.
The problem is I cannot find any of the childrens births listed anywhere.
The children are:-
Mary       - 1836 - clerkenwell
caroline  - 1838 - clerkenwell
stephen or John - 1840 -islington
elizabeth -1843 -  islington
Martha - 1845 - islington (my 2X GGM)
Emily  - 1851 - islington
and on the 1861 census are these :-
Mathew - 1844 - islington
Charles - 1854 - islington
Frederick - 1856 - islington
I have searched high and low and cannot find a single birth record that fits date and location wise
I am now beginning to think that they never registered any birth for whatever reason!

any ideas anyone!
