Clare / John & Bridget Daley
« on: Wednesday 30 October 13 04:21 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for information on these people. Bridget was Bridget Skarret before her marriage.  I have them in the 1851 English Census living in Durham England.  They arrived in Melbourne Australia on the Prince Alfred from England in 1854.  All the records I have show that they were from County Clare.
They are my great great grand parents.  If anyone has information on them I would really appreciate it.  Thank you Jo

Australia / Re: S.A. BD&M - Those missing HILLs

I have just noticed your posting re "Those missing Hill's"  I too have been looking for more information about James.
James is my great great grandfather on my maternal side of the family.
It would appear that he arrived in South Australian in 1848 with a wife named Jane Casly.  She died approx 1853, I think that their were two of three children from the marriage. He then had seven children with a woman named Susan Lockman, Lock, Lowman or Lockley, the eldest who was William who was my great Grandfather.  His daughter Mary Jane Hill was my grandmother.  I have not be able to locate a marriage in South Australia for James and Susan.

All the Hill family lived in the Payneham area, a suburb of Adelaide.  List of address vary from Marden, Marsden, and Campbelltown.  I grew up in Adelaide, so I am very familiar with the area and names of the suburbs

You have much more information about the family than I do.  Are you a member of the extended Hill family?

Cheers Jo    I now live in Brisbane.

Wiltshire / Henry HUNT
« on: Saturday 08 October 11 07:44 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for any information regarding Henry Hunt.  He was married  to Anna (Hannah) Oram on the 20th April 1851 in the parish church in the parish of Collingbourne Ducis. His father was George a carpenter and her father was James a labourer.
Anna was born in Collingbourne Ducis in 1824.  I do not know when or where Henry was born though I think that it would be around 1826.
I have not been able to locate either of them in the 1851 census.  On the marriage certificate Henry stated that he was residing at Appleshaw, Hampshire, Wiltshire now.
As I will be in the UK later in the year I really would like to find out more about this family.  From Australia where I live it is a brick wall.  Any help to chip away at this wall would really be appreciated.
Thank you Josephine

I am looking for any information about Merle.  Born 10th November 1908.  Her parents were Thomas Richard Deacon and Evelyn Virtue Hill.  Merle's siblings were, Walter Richard, Stanley Ernest, Victue Gwen, Sydney Hilll and Frederick Thomas.  Merle married Harry James Thomas in 1934 at St Lukes Adelaide and they were divorced in 1938.
Merle's mother Evelyn had a sister Mary Jane Hill who was married to Robert John Cook.  Their youngest daughter was Alma Mary.  I am Alma's daughter and would appreciate any information not only about Merle but any members of Thomas and Evelyn's family.
Josephine.

Thank you for the information on Emma Ord.  It would appear that her Robert Ord was the nephew of the Robert Ord that I am tracing, his father also Robert Ord was the youngest brother of Errington Bell Ord. Your info has been a help and confirms my thoughts that this Robert Ord was related to mine I have found a photo of the grave of Errington Bell Ord's brothers grave...Thomas Bell Ord died 23th July 1856, this is also in the Bishopwearmouth Cemetery.  It you can send me a copy of the photo of Errington's grave, I would appreciate it....thank you.
My Robert Ord and his wife Margaret are buried in the Sunderland Cemetery, grave number BB1148.
I was in Sunderland in January this year, with the information that I now have another visit would be even more interesting than the one in January.
Living in Australia I do hope that I can return.  Have family in London so perhaps one day it will be possible.
