Kent Completed Lookup Requests / Re: 1841 census - Andrews in Greenwich

Thanks Carol

That is really brilliant, I think I can now take the plunge and send off for the 1845 death certificate.

Yes I think you are correct and William took over from his father.

Best wishes

Kent Completed Lookup Requests / 1841 census - Andrews in Greenwich
« on: Saturday 26 November 05 12:28 GMT (UK)  »
If SKS has access to the 1841 census for the Greenwich area I am wondering
whether they could look up an entry for me.

Sarah ANDREWS bap 1785 should be living there, I am interested in finding
out whether her husband Mat(t)hew ANDREWS a miller was living with her at
that time. By the 1851 census (North Place, Greenwich) Sarah is a widow and I have found a death of a
Mathew in the GRO indexes for 1945 but as there are no ages shown at that
time I am not sure if I have found the right one.

Thanks ever so much.

Cornwall / Re: Origins of Penrose aka Penros
« on: Tuesday 21 June 05 12:36 BST (UK)  »
I also have Penrose ancestors from Cornwall. Arthur Penrose, baptised 1777 in Redruth, left Cornwall just after 1804 to move to Tavistock in Devon. One of his sons (my gg grandfather), also called Arthur, was baptised there in 1816 and by 1841 had moved to London. Would love to swap Penrose ancestry with anyone.
