Dear all,
I'm doing a tree for friend and has hit a very big wall on Scotlandspeople. What I have:

Marriage 17/11/1896 Alloa (In Roman Catholic Church)
James Livingstone, Widower, Hawker,  aged 32
to
Jane McKay, Spinster, aged 27

James Parents - Donald Livingstone (Exciseman) and Alice Mackenzie
Janes Parents - Daniel McKay (Traveller) and Catherine McManus

I have tried and failed to identify birth places of James and Jane, marriages of parents or parents birth places.
Any leads would be most welcome.  There must be something somewhere!

Dear Jan,
I recently did the Yule family tree for a friend of mine and they were from Errol and Inchure. If you find out any more about Elizabeth's family (eg parents) I might be able to tell if she was from the branch I was researching.

Hi, that's a branch of my family. If you go to the page below you can see my tree from Donald Macintosh's entry. I did not have anything on James's family so your information is very interesting.  I also have it on Ancestry and GenesReunited.

http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=mackmacl2011v12&id=515678056

I have a hard copy of a tree done by a relation in Australia of Australian MacIntosh's and I have put most of it on my tree.

A couple of things - Donald's middle name was actually his occupation not his name! There are a few of them that are recorded as slaters. Also I have his wife as Isabel McEwan.
I am decended from Alexander Macintosh, Donald's brother

Bunloit is small homestead area on the hills on the Northside of Loch Ness above Urquhart Castle.

regards
Bob

House Identified: 28 Albert St.  On Google Earth I could see house number for 24 and 30 so can work out which one is 28.  I still have to pop round there myself (weather has been rotten here and road has been closed there for roadworks).

'Hi Bob It is the house I thought it was. It is on the left [that is as you look up the hill] just about 5 houses past Braid Rd. It is number 28 if you look at the pane of glass above the front door you will see it still says The Anchorage. Albert St was like many other streets it had little groups of houses like Myrtle Terrace just past Spiershill and probably their own numbering for the Terrace. I came from Isla Place with our own numbering system. With that in mind The Anchorage may have belonged to Battenburg Group of houses hence confusion with the numbering. Vera Tayport born and bred'

Hi,
I presume you know that Spinks of Arbroath are world famous for their Arbroath Smokies. I was in one of their fish shops only the other day (although they are now part of a bigger company).

No problem. I've had plenty help on this site.  I presume you have a photo of the gravestone? Bob
