It's also done to make us shout at the TV Carol  ;D

Sorry but as Carol says its a common TV device and one the channel likes - we know it annoys some of you - we have however tried to ensure the recap is at a minimum so we don't repeat so much

Thanks for the feedback - you will find the episodes are all very different, the amout of Genealogy will depend on how much research was needed - some cases coming up are very complex and we go deep into the search - more simple ones there is not so much to say.

We aim to offer something for everyone and treat each story the best way possible

We are still on for most of March so tune in BBC1 9:15am and join the debate on Twitter or FB #heirhunters

I've now watched the first four programmes in this series. My impression is that the amount of repetition has increased (clip of what's coming, shown in full, reminder when we get back to that case) even over previous series - something I find very irritating. As I record to watch later I try to catch the repeat bits & fast forward but don't manage them all.

We've stopped recording them now as the amount of repetition is OTT.   It's not just Heir Hunters - lots of programmes are doing the same thing.

we do try to keep it to a minimum to be honest - but it's something the broadcasters like - as you will see on other shows - when we split the stories - it does help to have a quick reminder as some of the cases can be quite complex.

we will take you notes on board and cut it as far back as we can in future.

The other comment I meant to post was about the "you may be an heir" bit - in the end credits it has Bona Vacantia correct as at May 2012. Couldn't either a more up to date version be inserted or at least a check done to see whether the names were still on the list, a bit nearer to the time of first broadcast than 10 months ago?

Hi - this series is NEW - it has not been shown before - we completed it in May and the BBc have been sitting on it. We check the names with BV right up to when we finish the show.

Tomorrow a Celebrity Special!

Heir Hunters finally solve a 20 year old case and along the way reveal the story of a heroic pilot in the family who died in the final days of WW2. And when BBC weatherman Michael Fish learns he is the heir to an unclaimed estate he goes on a journey of discovery through his family history. Plus details of estates for which heirs still need to be found, could you be an heir?
