Is it not Elizabeth BAIRD??

Is there anybody on this group actively researching the WYLIE families concerned, I'd like to exchange notes.

I'm trying to tie up this family (or some of them) with my Great Great Great Grandfather Thomas WYLIE who was married in Glasgow in 1817 and was a policeman.   His son WILSON WYLIE moved to Drakemyre Hamlet just outside Dalty where he brought up his family.   Perhaps by moving from Glasgow back to Ayrshire - he was going back to his roots.

Unfortunately few of the names from the Stevenston families seem to be MY Wylie family names, but I'm trying to establish if there is a link.

MY Wylie family have roots in Dalry and  Saltcoats

I am trying to trace the Family WYLIE who are recorded as living at Brake Plough, Stevenston in 1819.   There may in fact have been TWO families called Wylie at the same location who may or may not be related.

Where is Brake Plough - today.  Was it a farm or a street?

Wow- thanks Nick  -  I made a trip up there last summer and photographed what I thought to be Glasgoego Cottage (at ther left had side of the main road past Blackburn.

Have you lived there long as there are a few un-answered questions I have....

Many regards

Tom Wylie

It is my mother's side of the family (Cumming) I am interested in and the female line is either Scroggie or Robbie.

Would you happen to know if Glasgoego Cottage is the little cottage beside the main road passed Blackburn, along the A96 just on the left beyond the Kinellar Roundabout.   My Great Grandmother lived there at one point.

I cant find a premises called Leddach but there is a place called Broadshade so maybe that ties it down.   Can you tell me if "Mains of Keir" still exists today?
