Hi Genieflower
I see you have changed your Look up Heading which is a good thing but you still may be going along the wrong track.
I have looked up the 1861 Census for Tynwain (Yscirfawr Ward of Merthyr Cynog Parish at Brecon Library - the copy was not very good but what I could make of it is as follows:-
Thomas Davies 30 Born Llanfechan; Celina M. 27 born Llandefalle; Jane dau 4 b.Merthyr Cynog; William 2 and Emily 1 month (both born in Merthyr Cynog
If this is the Selina you are researching it may not be the same Celina Williams of Nantygwwreiddyn I have been telling you about.
You may find it interesting to check the Lookup on RootsChat.com under the heading "Davies family 1951" nomdeplume Cardiff which is the 2nd item on page 2 of the Lookups.
I would also take up the offer someone has made to look up the census returns for 1851; 1861 & 1871 for Tynwain as this may help you to see if you are pursuing the right line but take care that it is Tynwain Yscrifawr and not Tynwain Duffryn Honddu (both in M C Parish) The other day I tried to look up the 1901 Census for Baileyhelig ( as Thomas Davies may have been living there in 1901) but I didn't have any success. Baileyhelig is in the Parish ? of Brecon St. David's Without
