I wonder if it's bricklayer not Brinkley, referring to his occupation....

Hi

I think this is your family in 1841:

BAGGERLEY, George   M   44   1797      Staffordshire
BAGGERLEY, George   M   14   1827      Staffordshire
BAGGERLEY, John   M   3   1838      Staffordshire
BAGGERLEY, William   M   4   1837      Staffordshire
CHILTON, Isabella   F   20   1821      Staffordshire

I have Baggaleys in my family too, although they were around the Stoke area, so I've been taking an interest in your thread.   Can't see any connections yet unfortunately!

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / Re: Marriage registers, Walsall - FOSTER/TAYLOR

Yes, that's the right census, but I think it's a misspelling for Nancy because they are in Cannon Street in 1861 and 1871 as well and the children and their ages are consistent.  (And in fact, I found John and his parents living in Cannon Street in 1841!)  They move to Cannock by 1881.  I've found them through all the censuses but just can't find their marriage or go back any further on Nancy's side.

Yes, I did.  From her daughter Ann Maria's, born in 1858.

From her age given on the censuses Nancy was born in 1829 or 1830.

Unfortunately Foster is one of the most common surnames in Darlaston!  The most likely looking family are John and Mary Foster - John is a miner like Nancy's husband and in 1851 they are living in Green Lane, Walsall, as are John's parents.    But I haven't been able to trace any of that family any further in the censuses so it would be nice to have confirmation that I've got the right family.

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / Marriage registers, Walsall - FOSTER/TAYLOR

Hi, would anyone have access to parish marriage records for Walsall (or possibly Darlaston) around 1845-51?

I'm looking for the marriage of my 3x great grandparents, John TAYLOR and Nancy FOSTER (could be Ann as she calls herself Ann in one of the censuses).  In the 1851 census they are living in Cannon Street, Rushall (Nancy was born in Darlaston) and their eldest son is 3 which means he was born in 1847/1848.  I can't find them on Free BMD at all and I have been trying to determine which of the various Nancy/Ann Fosters born in Darlaston might be her parents, so a marriage would be helpful!

Thanks in advance

Liz
