I think Arthur William Farmer might be a relative.
Does anyone know anything of his life before 1918?
Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul

I posted some info on your other thread which I'm not sure you've seen:

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=689050.0

I did see that. Thanks. I'm trying to establish a link between that William born 26/12/10 and my 3x great grandfather who died in Wigan, Lancashire in 1858. I've nothing definite yet that that ties the two people togther.
And assuming he is my ancestor, I'm also trying to take the line back a bit further with his parents.

This couple married in Gairloch on Nov 23, 1806. He appears on the 1841 census as a tenant farmer. Both their fathers are called William.
Does anyone have records of John or Katherine's births? I think John was born in 1783 and Katherine in 1788.
I'd be grateful for any help.
Thanks for reading.

Thank you.
I don't suppose anyone knows anything about this William? I'm particularly keen to know who his parents were.

Does anyone have a record of the marriage of William Mckenzie and Christy in Gairloch in (I guess) about 1838?
Any information about him and his parents would be gratefully received.
Thanks for reading.

hello.
The William you're looking for is my 3x great grandfather.
I have hit the same brick wall as you but do have some information about him which you might find interesting.
We think we may have traced him to a croft in the far north west of Scotland, but have no proof that it's him.
Drop me a line to my email - (*) - and I'll send you what I have.
Also, how are you related to William? And to me?
Paul

Yes, he died in January 1858 and is buried in an unmarked grave in Lower Ince cemetery.
Who would have the record of his license and does anyone know what information that would hold?
