I am still searching for my Henry Ling. He was born according to Henry's and Fanny's family Bible in 1845, in Kent UK. His parents were John and Susannah Mary Ling. He migrated to Australia, at sometime from 1845 to 1873, when he married Fanny Caroline Siggs Croft, in Bathurst NSW. Fanny had migrated with her family from Maidstone Kent, they had many family members in Cranbrook. I believe he was related to the Lings in Wollongong, and the Kennersons in Williamstown Victoria, as the DNA agrees with this. However, he was born in 1845, and I'm sure this is correct, looking at a photo in Bathurst (1883), of Henry and Fanny and their three young children, they are both young. i really want to know where he came from, and the ship he arrived on. He had a brother George and a sister Emma, according to my aunts knowledge, maybe a woman named Fairy, cropped up, oddly enough.

I read the information on Susannah and Jonathan ling. I know this is correct. On my gggf death certificate he had his sister listed as next of kin. I know that she lived in Williamstown, and her husband was a gas blower. Henry(Jonathan) was also the first gas blowerstoker at the new Manly gas works. I believe Jonathan came to Australia via MelbourneT the age of twenty one. His sister and her husband came later. My grandmother's name was Alice, she had an older sister Susannah, unfortunately she died under the age of two. My grandmother actually married a man whose surname was Ling, he came from Suffolk, not a relative.

I am also interested in the mills. My grandmother and her siblings grew up, and some were born in Zielora Gora. Her father was a loom tuner from Huddersfield. His name was John Dyson, and he spent more than twenty years in what I believe was Germany at that time. He was interned in a camp at the race course in Berlin during World War One, but was released because of his age, he then returned to Huddersfield. My grandmother loved Zielora Gora, spoke fluent German, hated her return to Huddersfield. I guess she had grown up in Zielora Gora, and had no connection to Huddersfield. As a young adult she got employment as a governess to a family travelling to Australia. As a young child, she tried to teach me German, and spoke it as the opportunity arose. My grandmother youngest sister, Ivy, was born in Zielora Gora, she joined her sister in Australia. My grandmother spent her life travelling between Australia and the UK, but never returned to Germany, I guess, two wars put an end to that.

I know a lot about fanny, as my grandmother told me, but i know very little about Henry, I do know he was the first stoker at the new, at the time manly gas works, that he had some sort of accident, invalid and died when my grandmother was young. However I just wanted to find out where he came from. It seems to me that some people get him mixed up with Henry c ling, from mainland origins , son of Morley ling from maitland.
