Hello all.

Thanks SO very much for finding the information that you have done. I am new to this website and have been amazed by everyone's helpfulness.  :o

Thank-you again.

Ringy.

Yes, I understand Ricky. Really, we should all understand that we are looking for ancestors in this forum. I am grateful for people willing to help out but I didn't wish to seek information about modern relatives. Perhaps I should have highlighted that more clearly but I thought it was understood by the nature of the website. When I said that I didn't know much about his sisters, I meant it to mean that I didn't have the information for reference points, in order to find more information about Arthur and Hannah Munger. Sorry, if that wasn't clear.  :-\ As I said, I was searching for information about Arthur and Hannah Munger - it even says it in the posting subject.  ;) I did get some help in that direcation and thanks to those for helping!  ;D
Anyway...  :D

Hello again. Valda, sorry.. regarding your statement: 'However as in this case the encouragement was to come forward from the early 1920s and trace potentially living relatives and their descendants.'

That isn't really true on my part. The very first two sentences in my post were actually:
I am searching information about Arthur and Hannah Munger. Their son, my grandfather (Dennis Munger) was born in Chiswick, 1922 and died in 2002 in Berkshire.
These are the parents of my grandfather (who died in 2002)! This is the direction I was heading... so I am not really sure why people were inclined to head forward on this post.
Never mind,
Thanks.

Hello,

Regarding: 'Please do not post requests asking for help to find (possibly) living relatives or friends.'

Sorry if anyone has been misled here. I was looking ONLY for information of my ancestors, it is why I joined rootschat.com... but I had to use my grandfather (who passed away 7 years ago) as a reference point. The aim is to head backwards, to see what we can find!  :) You'll see that I didn't actually post a request to find a possibly living relative but just wanted some information in general (meaning some reference points, heading backwards). I suppose everybody needs to take care about posting replies if they think that the relative may still be alive. It is clearly not wise to post precise birth dates with names of those you may think still be alive!
Still, I am sure we can move on from this now!

Thanks

London and Middlesex / Re: Prior family in Fulham

I am the great great great grandchild of Alice and Samuel Prior! I live in Copenhagen.

As far as I know, Alice Prior (Carter) and Samuel Prior had 6 children:

Hepzibah, Sidney, Edgar, Victor, Leonard and Bertram.

Victor Ivor Prior was my great great grandfather, born in 1902 and died in 1979, the year I was born. He married Ivy May Stevens, who died when she was just 37. They had 1 child together, my grandmother who currently lives in Berkshire. Later, Victor remarried to a 'Connie'. Information runs dry there!

Samuel Prior died in 1928/9 and Alice Prior remarried a man named Mr. Levett when she was 75. I have no further information there either. Alice had a sister called 'Hattie', who had son called Len. I don't have much there either.

Would be very interesting to hear from anyone. I saw that user 'Ringrose' had some information.

Berkshire / Wokingham/Emmbrook Road

Does anyone have any information about the old houses or the people that lived down this road? It is a very old street. Any information would be fantastic/intriguing, especially on the pub (now called The Emmbrook Inn). I used to live down this road as a child and always found it interesting but a bit sad that I didn't know much about it. The current hairdressers used to be a shop a long time ago, I believe.

Any other historical information about Emmbrook would be interesting too.

Regards

I am searching information about Arthur and Hannah Munger. Unusual surname, I know.  ;)

Their son, my grandfather (Dennis Munger) was born in Chiswick, 1922 and died in 2002 in Berkshire. He had several sisters. I don't know much about them. One of them I believe was/is called Shirley.

Would be very intersting to hear if anyone has information.
Regards

Ryan.
