Could somebody do a look-up for me please.
 
John Knox, b. 1815/16 in Midlothian.

The only other info. I have is that his Father"s name was James.

I"d be most grateful if you could do a look-up for my G.Grandmother.
Alice Emma Mason - Born somewhere in London,26th.March 1867. Sorry I cant be more specific about the area but Alice was raised in an orphanage and didn"t know herself which district she was born in.
Ill understand if its too big a task for you. Thanks.

Thanks for your reply.
The reason I asked about a locked topic was because I requested a look-up for 1861 census, Marylebone  on the London board. I didnt understand what "locked" meant , I thought it  may be preventing someone from sending me a reply. I am new to this site and also new to computing but am "getting there" with the help of  kind folk like you .

Hi everyone, I"m very new to this site and  feel I must say how brilliantly friendly and helpful everyone is.
As for GenesReunited, I have mixed feelings. Some of the people I have contacted have been polite & friendly & others have been down right  rude. I have had  2 separate replies which I feel were particularly undeserved. No.1- "This is not my ancestor", No.2- "Not in my tree". I dont know why some people take this attitude. Surely they would expect a civil reply if they were to e-mail you or I  with a query.
Anyway, you folks on this site are brilliant & I found you by accident!!!!
