They had four sons and one daughter.

No idea about any spouse or children.

Hi AJ1,I do have,at least,one John Wilmot Rae in my family tree.He was born in Manchester in 1896 and had,what appears to be,a twin brother named James William.I have no record of their deaths.My great grandfather was James McLean Rae(born Manchester,1842,died M/c 1903) he got about a bit and had six children in various parts of the country,all by his wife,Jane(nee Wilmot)He started off as an Oil &lamp dealer and ended up in the antiques trade.If you are interested my family tree is posted on MyHeritage.com.If you want complete access send me your "e" mail address and I will log you as a member of the site.In the last twelve months I've discovered dozens of relatives I never knew existed.Regards,Alan Rae

Many thanks for the note of cheer "frustrated iban".Know what you mean.I've been at it,off and on,for over ten years now.It can get very frustrating then,all of a sudden a tiny chink appears and ,hey presto,fantastic revelations.In the last six months I,ve learnt of ,literally,dozens of relatives I never knew existed,including one in Australia(Not I hasten to add a result of the enforced emigration policy!)Thanks also to Stephen Nulty but I don't think he is a relative although it is a possibility as the Rae clan were very nomadic,starting off in Hoddam in 1719.Regards,Alan ::)

Hi,trying to trace details of my grandfathers service record.Tried N.I.and Army Records,Glasgow and drew a blank.Recently aquired three photographs and a copy of his medal card.His army numbers were:-Loyal North Lancashire Regiment number 32455;East Surrey Regiment 28953.
Born,George Wilmot Rae,Grantham,Lincs,17/11/1882;married(St Marks,Levenshulme,Manchester)March 1909.Died 24/09/1959,Winwick,Warrington.Two of the photographs show him wearing the cap badge of the Manchester Regiment whilst,in the third,I am informed that he is wearing the badge of the East Surrey Regiment.Have come up against a brick wall,in my researches,so ANY input would be appreciated.Never met my grandad,he was admitted to Winwick in 1929 and died there in 1959,what a waste of a life and a grandad.Regards Alan Rae
