Hi I have had a quick look at the documets in my possesion in regard to our property. Just to give you the background to the village.
Most of the properties and land was owned originaly by the Spencers ( Earl Spencer of Althorp). Lady Diana,s Grandfather.
The document I have have refers to the transfer of the land to the Cunard Pension Trustees and lists all the properties.Dated 1926.
There are a number of farms listed, some can still be identified and all would most probaly still exist as the Building. My best guess would be that your Ancestor worked for a tenant farmer, who rented the Land from the Spencers.
Interesting a E W BERRY is listed as Occupier of Cottage No 19.
I will do some more investigations and let you Know.
If you have any specific questions please let me know.
Best regards
