Hi Rosie99
I have a death Date of abt 1766 and a burial date of 5th Sept 1766 Burial Location Ashington West Sussex in the name of Sarah Ayres. The record is from West Sussex Record Office.
I have read the entry on Ancestry and it does say she was widowed when she married Nicholas Powell.  I must have interpreted it wrong, but who was her first spouse? I still believe the record must be wrong to have an entry that it was the same person as her Father????  Thanking you for you help and input.

Sussex Lookup Requests / Sarah Ayres 1737 - 1766
« on: Tuesday 30 September 25 12:48 BST (UK)  »
Hi All
I have struck the proverbial brick wall, can anyone do a a lookup for me, please. This is what I know:
Sarah Ayres 1737 - 1766 Birth Ashington West Sussex  Father Edward Eyres 1697 - 1743    Mother
Elizabeth Penfold 1699 - 1739. I have a marriage for Sarah to Nicolas Powell B.1700 M. 1748. I have only access To Ancestry and Family Search and both give a marriage for Edward Ayres 1697 - 1743 to Sarah Ayres after the death of Nicolas Powell, this cant be right as it appears she is married to her own Father. Appreciate any help on this one. Thanks.

Hi All
Firstly a thank you to all who have replied, I am no further into discovering if Mary Ann Fuller was the child of William Cavendish, I have since emailed the author of the Boatwright Tree but no reply as yet.
I have some possible additional information :-

William Fuller b.1776  d.1846  Married Sarah Heath b.1776 d.1860 Married 6/05/1799

William Fuller age 70 at death
Sarah Heath age 84 at death

Sarah Heath could have married again on 21/06/1789 to Joseph Turner b.1771.  d.1805. age 61 at death.
Records found on Ancestry.

Hi
I am looking for any information on the above, I have found on the English Boatwright Family Genealogy site that Mary Ann Fuller and I quote " Mary Ann is said to have been the illegitimate daughter of a Duke who paid her maintenance for life. It was said, her Father was William Cavendish, 5th Duke of Devonshire."  Her "Father is listed as Joseph Boatwright and Mother Sarah" It was known the Duke had other illegitimate children and two are listed . Is this one a cover up as I am sure went on in days gone by.
I have no clue on where to start and wonder if anyone could do some lookups to help me out.
My wife is a Boatwright and we have in the tree Joseph and Sarah with Mary Ann as the Daughter. we would really like to find out more.
Thanks

Dave

Surrey Lookup Requests / Maurice Jeal
« on: Wednesday 27 September 23 21:44 BST (UK)  »
Evening All

Could someone do a lookup for me regarding Maurice Jeal b. Feb1921 Croydon. I am trying to establish my Fathers birth address. Mother was Ruth Ada Jeal nee Leigh and Father was Maurice Obed Jeal, the 2 addresses that I know they lived at are 8 Cooper Road and 7 Hillside Road both in Croydon but I know these are later addresses. I have through the family heard the address Penshurst Road in Thornton Heath Croydon mentioned but I would like to know for sure. Am I right in thinking the 1921 Census would give that information. Thanking all in advance for any information found. Dave

Cissy was my Grandmothers sisters daughter ( Grandmothers niece ) so I think my parents just followed on from what everyone called her.
