Immigrants & Emigrants - General / Painters emigrating to American
« on: Tuesday 15 February 05 23:50 GMT (UK)  »
I'm trying to find info on William Painter b.1787 Hannington Wiltshire. At least 2 of his children William b.1820 and George b.1828 made it to Wellsville and Logan Utah. His last child was born in England in 1830 I'm trying to establish whether he emigrated with family or whether the children emigrated later on around 1850. I can trace desendants of The sons William and George to the present day but I need advice on how to research when, how and where they emigrated. Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Researching
 Painter in Ruspidge 1850 +
Davies in Coleford 1900 +
Hi
I have just joined rootschat and have only just started researching my ancestors but  here is what I have so far of Painters in Ruspidge. In 1871 census Henry Painter b.1834 Miserdine Glos married to Eliza ? b.1831 Painswick Glos lived in Ruspidge  working as a miner. Lodging with him were 3 nephews Jesse b.1847 Miserdine, Joseph b.1845 Painswick and Henry b.1851 Misedine. By 1881 Jesse and Henry had moved on but Joseph married local girl Charlotte ? and had fathered James b.1871 and Edwin  b.1874 .
Thanks
