Somerset Lookup Requests / North Somerset Inquest 1972 (Taunton Records Office) ROACH
« on: Tuesday 27 September 16 13:09 BST (UK)  »
If anybody by any chance is going to Taunton Records Office in the near future I would appreciate a lookup of :-
North Somerset Registers of deaths reported, 1953-1972 (C\CR\N/8, 22-23, 29)  and
Inquests, 1946-1954, 1968-1973 (C\CR\N/40-43)

I am looking for Mary Lilian ROACH who was knocked over by a car and died 8 August 1972 in Winford Hospital. Apparently there was an Inquest held on 14 August 1972 and 24th August 1972.

This was my estranged grandmother who everybody assumed had died of old age. Out of curiosity I ordered her death certificate and found the above. Really shocked and saddened so would like to find out more if possible.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Many thanks

Hi, came into this a bit late but Moses is my 3x Great Grandfather so I may be able to help a bit if you are still looking for info. INhaven't looked at the Toghills for a while but I do have a fair bit of info.

Yes, I have been using that to calculate dates so it looks as though he had completely vanished if we assume he isn't the one in the Hobart death register for December 1833. Looks like I'm stuck now but many thanks for taking the time and effort to help me get this far.

Yes, good point.  David was baptised in Dec 1830 and I can't find a record of birth. I may try UK gaol records if I can find them.
The 103 doesn't appear to have any proof, seems like everybody has cut and pasted somebody elses tree.

Many thank for the input though.

Has anybody got any ideas as to how I can bottom this one please? I have noticed a number of trees on ancestry who are now claiming that David didn't die until 1933 (when he was 103!) and I'm really struggling to accept that. Especially as there doesn't seem to be any record of home after landing with Mary in 1832 (other than the orphangae link and death record of the 'other' David)

Any help would be most useful

Many thanks again
