London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Re: Ernest James Hall b1856/7

Kansker,

I have looked at that record but although his wife is Jane the 1881 census says Jane Marrian where as the Jane I know is Jane Ann Adelaide. I need to do some more digging to see if the census was perhaps filled in wrong.

In 1861 he was 4 and living in Bethnal Green with the following family members:

George Hall, 27, father and he was a cabinet maker
Maria Hall, 30
Harriet, 6
Emily, 2

In 1891 he was living at 33 Museum Buildings, Bethnal Green with his wife Jane and  their children, Jane, Alice, Rosina and George.

Can anyone help solve a problem I have  with my wife's great grandfather. Ernest was born in Bethnal Green in I think 1857, possibly late 1856, I have traced him on the 1861 census but cannot find him on either the 1871 or 1881 census yet I find him again in 1891 through to 1911. He married Jane Ann Adelaide Dallison in 1874.

Any help very much appreciated.

Staffordshire completed Look up Requests / Re: John Love - Missing?

Thanks Willow, it certainly fits. Looks like a trip to the NA may be needed to look for the court records re John as they cannot be obtained online ( unless I want to spend a minimum of £60)

Rebecca was still at home with Robert and Elizabeth in 1851 and then at home with Elizabeth in 1861 where Elzabeth was head of the household.

Thanks again for all your help.

Hi Willow,

I was hoping you may be able to assist. I have done some more investigating and according to the 1841 census Robert and Elizabeth had a daughter called Ann, 15, Samuel, 10 and John and Rebeccca both aged 5, therefore born 1836

Now on the 1851 census John is not registered at home but Rebecca is and is classed as 15. John is on the 181 census but is shown as being 28 and therefore born 1833. I have found a John Love on the 1851 census and he is 18.

What do you think?

John's father was indeed Robert. Interestingly the marriage to Susan was not witnessed by Robert but by a Richard Love.
