Thanks for this info...and kudos to you and your father for helping to publish the book and make research for the rest of us just a little bit easier... :D

Yes, I have checked out familysearch.org..that's where I found the marriage license of Sarah and Andrew Gardiner, just nothing more!  At least so far.

I did have one lucky find with them...they moved to an area in Canada called Kincardine and there is a book written about the early settlers.  That's where I found a lot of information about the family...not to mention figuring out who was in that photograph that I had in my pile (turned out it was a ggg-uncle...Hugh Gardiner).

Thanks again for your help...it's the first piece I've managed to obtain on this family in years!!

Hi John...thanks so much for this information!  It's definitely something worth looking into.  I have her listed as being born in 1795, but I've come to realize that a lot of people don't know their exact years of birth.  Her grandson, who is my great-grandfather, has his year of birth ranging over a ten year period...I only figured out the tue year of birth because I found him in the 1861 census.

Is this information available on-line?  If so, can you please tell me where?

Thanks again!

Thanks for letting me know!  From what I can see, she is the only one that came and she came with her husband and their children.  It's been a tough nut to crack...:)

Hello...I have a Sarah Kirkwood in my family that I am having no luck researching at all.  I do know that she was born around 1795 and was married to Andrew Gardiner in 1815 in Ballyeaston, Antrim, Ireland.  Can you please let me know if you've come across anything to which she would fit?

Their children's names were Andrew, John, James, Hugh, Agnes, Mary and Anne.  They all came to Canada in 1858.  I've been searching on those names just to see if I can find anything...which is how I came across this posting.

Please let me know if you can help.  Thanks!
