Hello Adamand,

Please could I have any information on the Emersons (or emmersons) for Wolsingham please.

Also possibly an Ann Elliot nee. Emerson married to George Elliot. (after 1861)

Many thanks

Many thanks for the speedy reply! The names you mention do not match up though with my records.

I think I will have to go direct to the Durham Records office as a lot of the methodist records are not on line yet. Many thanks for your help - much appreciated! BR

Dear Adam,

I noticed on your list you had the surname Emerson. I'm looking for a John Emerson who probably died in Tow Law bet. 1881 & 91 and any family. He was a Methodist preacher and clerk to the Local Board but had previously been a bootmaker in Tow Law from the early 1850s. His wife was called Jane. Both came from Weardale. (Not sure where the Methodists were buried). Any help gratefully received.

Thanks, BR
