Thanks Suffolk*Sue

I hadn't been able to find those records so far.
He did remarry and I believe that the lady in question died a few years ago whiuch makes(2006) a likely candidate.

Thanks for your interest

Suffolk / Kirkley - George David Durrant

TOPICS MERGED

I am trying to find information on my birth father, George David Durrant born Jan. 20, 1922.  Married my mother, Winifred Edith Dawson on November 20, 1943 in the Kirkley Parish Church.  Served in the Royal Navy during WWII.  Father was Percival Augustus Durrant who was a Royal Navy Skipper.  I can't find any record of my father after the marriage to my mother and she left him and the country before I was born.   There is another name on the marriage certificate of George Isaac Durrant as a witness to the marriage.   Any information would be appreciated.  Thanks.

George David Durrant was my uncle. The above was posted in June 2011 by mlawrence.

If the poster would like to PM me I may be able to fill in some of the blanks

Sorry Colin, I'm Down Under, with even less access to those resources than you. I had to work from online sources backed up by purchased docs here and there, and I'm still not really certain of some information.
Good luck on your hunt.

Hi!
I just came across your post about George Durrant. George was my Grandfather's younger brother. The information in the other posts is, as far as my research goes, substantially correct. In particular I believe that the correct spelling is Haward not Howard, but I have seen it spelled both ways.
Have a look Here.

Good Luck.
