Hi Pennie, Hi Trish,
I don't have any birth cert for children born after 1837. I have a death cert for Mary Ann Miles - 10 February 1888.
Her first son John (my gggrandfather) married a Matilda Smith at the Baptist Meeting Place on 16 January 1853. The birth year I have for John Miles is 1826. Thankyou for the info so far, I will do some more research on the info you have given me.  Who can I get in touch with for Parish records and hopefully find more ancestors.
Thankyou both very much

Hi Sue, Mary Mccarthy married George Fielder in 1899. They had five daughters all born before this date.
Family story has it that Mary Mccarthy was a nun or came out here to Australia to join All Hallows in Brisbane, but instead she married Robert Kaye. I cannot find out when she arrived in Australia or what happened to Robert Kaye.

Cheers

Hi Tati
I think George died between 1848 and 1850, there is a notice for 1850 in Ticehurst. On their marriage cert his father was Henry and he was a labourer. Georges age states full age and his trade was a bricklayer. Witnesses for the marriage were Henry Clifton and Phebe Clifton, it looks like Phebe. I have looked up records and cannot find a marriage for these two. Found some great names on the Giles/Clapson side such as Gascoigne and Bridgeland and had a great time adding all these new descendents to my tree. Thankyou once again.

Hi Tati

I have already purchased the marriage cert for George and Harriet and Thomas Giles occupation was a labourer. I have this past week been looking into her mother as Lydia Clapsom and that would fit in with the family search. I have been put off because other researchers have her birth date as 1820 but that of course would be her christening date, and of course I have not been looking for a different spelling for the surname. Thankyou heaps, it is marvelous what a fresh set of eyes and a different way of thinking can do. Have you any ideas on the Clifton family? Hey Tati thank-you once again from Australia.

Hi Tati

Thankyou very much I will certainly look into this. I am finding it difficult to come up with a birth for Harriett which could lead me to her parents ancestory and as for Cliftons there just seems to be a dead end.

Kind regards
