This follow up is for a friend, I live in Hobart and have not been able to find any type of image here, the best i've been able to come up with is a sketch of Hobart in 1854.

I have had success with badly weather headstone by turning the image to black and white and then enlarging.  Or there is always the large sheet of paper and a black pencil.

The other place that may be able to help is the "Cascade female factory" in Hobart.  I know they have done alot of research on female convicts from very early in Tasmania not just Hobart.

hi, There is an index of convicts permission to marry, could be worth a look. Just a thought have you checked to convict records?
