Hi, I wonder if you have any further information on the Appin branch of this family. In a graveyard in Appin, Argyll there is a fallen and partly buried slate stone, in three pieces, but face up which intrigues me. It is in a section of this graveyard where I had expected to find an ancestor of another name.
"This stone is placed here for ... memory of John Colchoun, resident in Airds .. Kintyre, his house 1797"
Appin is many miles from the Kintyre peninsula although, by sea, not difficult I would guess.
Any information would be appreciated.
