Thanks LIzzie,
I thought it was because the researchers on the show actually went to the registry office in person and were given a more detailed copy of the death certificate than the one we would get if we applied by post.
 Thanks for clearing that up.

Can anybody help?..
I've noticed that on Heir Hunters on BBC1 the death certificates they use often have the place of birth and the date of birth of the person they are trying to trace.  Whenever I've sent for a death certificate there is no mention of either date or place of birth.  Why is that?

Thanks both,
Sorry, I wasn't very clear,  I'm not a new Roots member, I've been a member for years, I just don't post many topics!
I've got lots of certificates for birth, marriage and death and a couple of Wills and newspaper cuttings for various ancestors.  But I never thought of trade directories.  Would any of those directories include employees because I don't think any of my ancestors had their own businesses.

Morning All,

Can anybody offer any suggestions..
I've got the usual info from the censuses of various ancestors -  addresses, family members etc, but what can I do to find similar details, or any details,  in-between the censuses?
Thanks,
Tony
