I found your information very interesting. Unfortunately I do not have much more to add, I started researching my family a couple of years ago but for various reasons had to stop and have not yet been able to get back to it. I received an interesting thread about women convicts to Australia and a reply stated that a Ellen Hare was transported to Australia for 7 years from Ireland for stealing a handkerchief, she was sent on a ship called the Whitby You may well have this thread too. It also stated she was given permission to marry a James Mill, so the dates and husband do not fit, but maybe some connection somewhere.
