Hi Andy,
Sorry i have been meaning to drop you a line too.
I had a very interesting 4 week course at the library, where we were shown the site for Ancestry , i didn't get anything on my Bowbrick line but i found a few interesting things on my Mcpherson line which is my Mum's direct line.
So i am hoping by going to the library to do some research i may have a bit more success on our Bowbrick line. Also they actually do a course on how to use the Ancestry website, it's only a 2 week course but i think it must be worth doing.
It will be great to see you both again , you know you are both welcome to come to my hopuse for a drink and even a piece of homemade cake if you want, but obviosly whatever is easier for you.
I'm glad your daughter got into uni o.k. i hope she is liking it down here.
speak to you soon .
all the best Hilda.

Hi Karen, here is what i have.
Alice Atkins 1866-1913, married Ferdinand Phillips 1857=1889, they had a son William 1889=1890, she then married Henry John on 3/1/1894, their first chid was Henry b 1895, died 1896, John (Jack) b 1897=1985, Alice c 1900, who i believe died in the first year, then George 1903-1991. I have never heard of another brother, my Dad only ever spoke of Alice. Did you know your Dad had a older brother, George b 1921-1931?

Hi Karen, Aunt Nell's mother was Mary Bowbrick who was born  in Portsmouth in 1872-1897. Father of Nell is unknown that is why she kept the Bowbrick name i guess.
Mary's father was Henry John Bowbrick who was born in 1838, he was the one who was on the Warrior and the Victory, he was in the navy for 30yrs. My brother George has all the original papers of all the ships he was on, don't know if you knew this. My Dad's and Uncle Jack's father was also Henry John born 1866, he was Mary's older brother.I have notes on all their siblings also their father's siblings so if you need anymore let me know. I have now got stuck on my great-great great grandfather, i know he was Thomas Bowbrick and he was a baker by trade and possible married a Sarah ? born about 1788 but can't get any further.Great hearing from you anyway, hope everyone is well up there, Love Hilda

Hi My GG Grandmother was Jane Flisher, she married Henry John Bowbrick(this is my family name) on 25/12/1837 at the parish church of St Olave's in Southwark Surrey. Her father was William Flisher b 8/11/1765-1829, her mother was Ann Hodges 20/7/1766-1845. they were married in Cheriton 12/12/ 1785. She did have a brother William b 1787=1854 also a brother Edward b 1800- 1862. Jane was born in Sandgate in Kent. My history on the Flishers goes back to 1640 so if you need anymor please let me know, Regards Elizabeth147

Hi Delambo, I have since realised my Thomas Bowbrick did not marry Sarah Charman, My Henry John Bowbrick born 1815 in Camberwell Surrey was not the one christened in 1928, i did find a Henry born around that time but that is not my line i know. i am in contact with Andy 128 and at first i was led to believe that Thomas married Sarah Charman, after checking info from Colin Charman and Kristian Bowbrick there lines seem to cross but mine do not. My Henry who married Jane Flisher in1837 has Thomas Bowbrick who was a baker as his fatheron his marriage certificate, which i do have a copy of. I'm sorry for the confusion, I also was given details of a Thomas WilliamBowbrick born !811 who possible is Henry's brother, i haven't confirmed that either. Also on a couple of census that i have seen was a Thomas Bowbrick and a Sarah Banks who married, but i don't know if this is my Thomas, I would assume he was born around 1780 ! . Hi Andy , Just been reading the notes from Phil and yourself, I haven't found a link with  Phil's line although i am sure there is one . Let me know when you are all down this way and that will be great , iam fairly flexable. I have had my holiday this year so it is unlikely i will be going anywhere too far . I will try to organise my notes and give you a copy there may be bits that are of interest, at the moment they are a bit of a mess . Best regards Elizabeth

Hi Andy,
To be honest i have no idea about sending images and such like,i have to admit most of the time i don't really know what i am doing, although i have used a computer for a lot of years it was mainly a set programme. I just hit a button and hope for the best really, I have to relie on my children or grandchildren sometimes.I have done one computer course but rather inconveniently my local library has decided to close for a 6 month refit. What a coincidence that your daugter is coming to Pompey, small world is'nt it.Do you have all of Jane Flisher's siblings Andy, if not i will send that to you next. Also Henry 1838,went into the navy 19/2/1856/ was on at least 26 ships and was pensioned off 16/3/1884,. I do have a rough list of all the ships but if you do manage to get this way in the near future i will get the papers from my brother for you to look at . Regards Elizabeth
