Looks like 'emergency man' to me . . . . 'colliery emergency man or conveyor'

Nottinghamshire / Re: Question about some graves in Nottingham General Cemetery

Hi,

Just in case Tom doesn't come back to you. Along with your grave number, records should show which section of the graveyard the grave is in. I have a record of the sections but not where each individual grave is.

I dont know where you found the grave number - but the archives at Nottingham - if I recall correctly - have a computer database of names and graves.

Thank you for explaining Rattus - all seems so simple now you have done so. If only I had the patience to have got to page 40 I may have understood without bothering you. Thanks for YOUR patience with me......

Sorry Rattus - my fault for not being clear. What I meant was where are the rows on the map. Section L contains rows LA-LLL [according to the key on the map] - so where do I find rows LT and LS?

Hi,

Don't know whether you still have the records you made [I didn't know there was a cemetery there!] - but I am hopeful that there may be some of my ancestors buried in the church cemetery - as the church has a stained glass window with one of my ancestors named.

Beckworth is the family name.

If you did come across any burials for my ancestors I would be grateful to hear from you.

Many thanks.

Elaine

Nottinghamshire / Re: Nottingham Crown Court

You would now need to email the Crown Court to ask for the result of that hearing and also state why you wanted the information.

You wont be able to request a disclosure of full antecedents from the Crown Court and I don't think that the police would provide it either. You can ask the question of the Crown Court - but I think you may only be given information on the last sentence. Worth asking though, if you explain why you want it, for all convictions at the Crown Court, you don't get if you don't ask.

Might be worth getting in touch with the evening post also to find out if they can provide a copy of their report in the paper. Do you want to provide a name and others could do a search also?

Nottinghamshire / Re: Do you recognize the FWKs in this 19th century photo?

So sorry - no I hadn't used the slide bar to view the whole photo - mainly because I couldn't see it and view the photo at the same time. I thought the photo was cropped and so was only trying to help. Never mind, hopefully my posting hasn't wasted too much time for those viewing.

I never thought to take measurements of the two versions of the photos to compare which was the bigger and in which direction. How clever you are thinking of these things Janey!!!   :) ;) :)
