Thanks garstonite for helping me and being intererested in these names. Greatly appreciated.

Yes thanks I am in Australia. Francesca von Snarski was my grandmother, daughter of Peter von Snarski and Elizabetha koob nee Sheer.

It gets confusing as Elizabetha's gravestone states she was buried with her husband Theodore Vaughan who definitely wasn't her husband but her son in law. It makes you wonder how that could occur. Theodore's wife was alive and well, but not close by, in another part of the state.

And yes, despite Peter von Snarski having Rouman Snarski as his father and Anna Kupecki on his marriage as well as his death certificate, I cannot find anything in the polish records to indicate that; however I did find, and the dates align, his birth to a Jakub Sznarski and Anna Krupecka so am assuming that they are the correct parents. It is hard to believe that a marriage certificate would be incorrect, as Peter was only 52 at that time in 1889 but as mentioned I cannot find any marriage to a Rouman Snarski and Anna Kupecki.

Am not sure what else to do, apart from keeping on searching for Rouman and Anna.I have joined Ancestry and MyHeritage so maybe something might come up there.

Regards
Lyn

I thank everyone for their help not only for me but the many others trying to break down walls on their tree.

After doing more research I have found Peter Sznarski was not born to Roman but to Jakub Sznarski and his wife Anna Krupecka in Radzyn Chelminski in 1837, despite certificates having Roman as his father. The parents were married that same year, but not sure of who their parents were.

Where would I enquire to send for a birth certificate from this area, Radzyn Chelminski?

Many thanks

Well its only been 15 years since I last did any research!!! You can't rush these things :)

I have started up researching again, just this minute, so if anyone has any information on the above family/ies I would love to hear from them.

I am descended from the George Robertson b 1855 at Longside who with his wife Christian nee Johnston went on to have 11 children and their 3rd child, WIlliam is my grandfather who went to Australia I believe around 1907. William was born at Hythie Kininmonth.
