Thanks all- Ive learned my lesson there. I got it via ANC.co.
Bad move
I haven't got any further as yet but it occured to me that I haven't got a birth for him either although he comes up on several census' with the right parents but I'm wondering if he was baptized   with another name but was known as Thomas  (as they did!)  I've tried William (His Fathers name)  Thomas but no luckBack to the drawing board  ???

Essex Lookup Requests / Thomas Willis -died at sea?
« on: Tuesday 01 November 11 13:41 GMT (UK)  »
According to family stoties my GG Uncle Thomas Willis   1735-1759 b Maldon  Essex died at sea off Ccarborough.Hew as a mariner ,possibly on a coal barge. I have searched & searched for a death cert but have run out of ideas. I don't know if they would have taken him home to Essex or buried him in Yorkshire.  Any ideas would be gratefully received-it's driving me mad !

Hi Sykes
Just checked the 1901 census & you are quite right- how did I miss that !! ???
I wonder where Percy Place comes into this? As I said its definately on his death cert. Confusing eh !
Brenda

ps  Just checked the 1911 census & his widow & two daughters are there - at 4 Percy Place & she's a milk vendor! Maybe it was re-named

Hi Carole
Great to hear from you. I have to admit I have seen your tree on Anc & they compare favourably !  My paternal Grandmother was Edith Barson B Coventry1891 & the daughter of George Barson & Emma Porter. It was her brothers who emigrated to USA although Francis came back again.
My tree on Anc is a personal one at the mo But I am going to go to public. Hope you will be able to access it. Its called The Willis plus Tree
I will try & send you a pm with my email no- if it works !!
Keep in touch

Hi Richard
Unfortunately not my George. I have one that was born in Penge in 1825 but apparently never married.  Shame, can't find anybody researching this family !!
Happy hunting
