Hi Phil,

Glad you received the info. I have a ton more..just say the word. I am STILL finding new things and getting it all into the computer. My latest effort has been to trace all of Caroline Bradley's siblings. Ann, Lucy and William are done but Elizabeth has been difficult so am still working on it.

Hope to hear from you soon.

I wish I had more on Charles. I thought you might. I can't even find out the parish in Denmark where James Nelson is from.  Every record I have and I have many, only say Denmark. Since James and Charles were married to sisters and were married in the same church three years apart I have to assume they knew each other. I started researching Charles as I thought they might have come from the same village. They were both Danish sailors and then they stayed in Liverpool with James Anderson who was also from Denmark. There has to be some connection someplace.

Do you have a photo of Charles and Elizabeth?? Would love to have a copy if you do.

You have been to Shipston and Honington?? I loved it.

Lancashire / Charles Holmes family 1876-?? Toxteth Park

Charles Holmes nee Hans Holm married Elizabeth Blakeman in 1876 in Toxteth Park. They raised eight children in the parish of St John the Baptist. I am convinced there must be at least one cousin living there today. Can anyone help locate them??

I have traced all eight up until 1945 which is when free BMD stops on-line. I am not sure how to proceed. I know there are privacy issues when people are still living.

I would appreciate any help

Thanks

Samuel Blakeman married Caroline Bradley 16 December 1849 in St. Edmonds Church, Shipston-On-Stour, Warwick, England. I have many records and pictures to share. Is there anyone who is also part of this family??

Samuel and Caroline had three children and yes the oldest Mary Ann was born before their marriage date. Mary Ann was born 27 Dec 1848. Elizabeth was born 17 May 1855 and a son John was born 19 May 1857 and died at birth. Mary Ann Blakeman was my great grandmother. She married James Martin Nelson in the church in Toxteth Park, Lancashire, England 15 January 1873. They came to America and raised their family in Cleveland, Ohio.

Eager for a response.

Caroline Bradley from Shipston-On-Stour

Hi Hilbe,

After reading through all the posts on the Bradley family of Shipston, I think we are cousins!! Caroline Bradley would be my Great- Great Grandmother also. Mary Ann Blakeman the sister of Elizabeth was my Great Grandmother. She married James Martin Nelson from Denmark and moved to America.

Eager for a response as I have a lot of information to share.
