Archibald Headridge's mother, Agnes, was a sister to my GGGrandfather Peter Headridge.

Are you interested in relatives of John's father, Archibald Headridge?
I have extensive records of the Headridge Family here in Scotland and would be happy to share info.

Thanks for the replies - it's been THREE years since my post!

I have all the Scottish records, unfortunately the only one that gives any sort of clue is the 1851 Census which gives the place of birth for all the family members as (looks like DRUMANAGHAN?) County Down.  Other census records just say County Down.
I would be grateful if anyone can offer advice.  I am in Scotland so an online resource would be ideal or a contact who could look up records locally.
Thomas Crombie's death cert. gives his DoB as 15 Nov 1840, Ireland.  This is the only document with a date in Ireland.  I have all the census, death and marriage certificates for the whole family of John and Susannah and there is no mention of Ireland.

Thanks

John

Thanks Christopher

the family were presbyterian as far as I know.  I have plenty records of them here in Scotland but all state the place of birth as County Down.  The only record with a place name is the 1851 Census which shows Drumanaghan.

Sorry

I meant to add the original message to the DOWN folder rather than DOWN RESOURCES.

I am trying to trace the Crombie family who I believe were from this townland.

John Crombie married Susannah Park and had the following children..

Thomas born 15 Nov 1840
Hannah  born  c. 1842
Martha  born  c. 1843
Isabella  born  c. 1848
John  born  c. 1850

Can anyone help establish this family or point me in the right direction for further research.

Thanks

John

Nina

Thanks so much for your insight.  I think you could be right with Drumanaghan.  I have waited years to try and establish a location in County Down for the Crombie family and this document is the first that I have found with a place name other than just County Down.
This gives me an avenue to explore so again thanks.

John

BTW I notice that you have Crombie and Watson in your fields of research.  I have a Catherine Watson Crombie (b 1874) from Maybole in mine.
