Hi Theogre,

Thank you for the lists of burials at Cathay, I have looked  down each section and have not found my Morgan, but now that I know that these lists are being compiled, I can watch out for the new entries. I am waiting for the documents from Cathay for William's parents & brother, but the documents are temporarily unavailable. I do appreciate your interest.

Kind regards,
Pauline

Hi Osprey,

I contacted the bereavement services and they located the details of the grave, it was in fact the grave of William?s Mother, Father & a brother James, a family grave. So I still need to find out what happened to my grand father William Morgan. The reply came back from Cardiff Bereavement Services the next day and they are going to send me the full documents.

William may still have been buried in a Paupers grave, without knowing when he died it will be impossible for them to search, they have hundreds of William Morgans. William was the black sheep pf the family so I believe.

Once again thank you for the link.

Pauline.

Hello Osprey,

Thank you for the links and your interest.  I will be delving into it straight away. I have only recently traced my Grandfather and do not know anything about him, so this will be a start. I have found him and his family on the Census up to 1901. My mother obviously did not know her father as she was 6 when he died.

cheers Pauline

Hi, I have recently been  sent information on my Grandfather William Morgan's burial, an old document, Grant of right to burial No. 38166 dated 11th May 1926 a single grave numbered 862 in section letter EA at Cardiff cemetery. I do not have the document myself but I believe the cemetery was Cathay. Other past information from a different source said he was buried in a Paupers Grave.

First How would I go about checking the information, or is there some really kind person who visits Cathay Cemetery could find out for me. I also believe William Morgan died at aound 30 yrs of age from an industrial  disaster/accident  that occurred at a pitch or tar works in either Cardiff or Llanelli. I hope I have posted in the right forum.

Pauline

Have to go now, will check post tomorrow.

Hi everyone,

Does anyone remember a second hand shop dealing in  house clearances  in Copper Street, Cardiff owned by Albert Morgan? does anyone have a photo of the shop or any details of the owner and family.

Cheers
